Please read these terms carefully before using PenPal.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PenPal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

PenPal is a personal health tracking tool for logging GLP-1 medication injections and monitoring weight progress. The app allows you to record injection dates, doses, and sites, track weight measurements, and view insights about your progress.

Not Medical Advice

PenPal is a tracking tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting, stopping, or changing any medication or treatment plan.

Pharmacokinetic calculations (residual levels, half-life estimates) are based on published clinical data and are approximations only. Residual levels are estimated using first-order elimination kinetics: amount × 0.5^(elapsed hours ÷ half-life hours). Individual responses to medication may vary. Do not use these calculations to make medical decisions.

Not a Dosage Calculator

PenPal does not calculate, recommend, or prescribe medication dosages. The dose options shown in the app are the FDA-approved dose progression for each medication, provided for user reference only. All dosing decisions must be made by your prescribing healthcare provider.

Data Sources and Methodology

The health data and calculations in PenPal are based on peer-reviewed and regulatory sources. The methodology for each calculation is as follows:

• BMI: Calculated as weight (kg) ÷ height (m)². Categories follow WHO standards: underweight (<18.5), normal (18.5–24.9), overweight (25–29.9), obese (≥30).
• Residual Medication Levels: Estimated using first-order elimination kinetics based on FDA-approved half-life values. This is an approximation; individual metabolism may vary.
• Weight Loss Rate: Calculated as (current weight − target weight) ÷ (timeframe in weeks). This is a simple linear estimate. Healthy rate (0.5–1 kg/week) per CDC guidelines.
• Next Injection Date: Estimated by adding 7 days to the most recent injection timestamp, per FDA-approved prescribing information.
• Injection Site Rotation: Suggested sites rotate through user-selected areas, prioritizing the least-recently-used site, per FDA prescribing information guidance.
• Resting Heart Rate: Values are read directly from Apple Health. The app does not measure heart rate. Normal range (60–100 BPM) per AHA guidelines.

Subscriptions

PenPal offers a free tier and optional premium subscriptions:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.

Your Data

All your health data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your data and do not share it with any third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• The accuracy of the data you enter into PenPal.
• Maintaining the security of your device and iCloud account.
• Using the app in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Intellectual Property

PenPal and its content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Ozempic and Wegovy are registered trademarks of Novo Nordisk A/S. Mounjaro and Zepbound are registered trademarks of Eli Lilly and Company. PenPal is not affiliated with or endorsed by any pharmaceutical company.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers of PenPal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, health outcomes, or adverse effects resulting from your use of the app.

PenPal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Termination

You may stop using PenPal at any time by deleting the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for violations of these terms.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of PenPal after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
